    As we head towards the colder months, this part of the globe sometimes experiences below freezing temperatures throughout the week. During the colder months, time is pushed backwards metaphorically speaking, we see it as gaining a hour of sleep, daytime and rest. 

    Alike certain animals, humans can benefit from healthy hibernation - it's as if we retain more with increased sleep, rest and neurological patterns. All of these factors occur during hibernation which allows animals to recover, heal and prepare for springtime with more strength and nutrients. 

Winter Wellness Hacks

Increase your fruit & vegetable intake - drink or eat them, juice or put in smoothie

Be mindful of your portion size for breakfast, lunch, dinner & snacks

Add garlic & cilantro to your meals, every week 

Increase your Vitamin D, C & B12 intake

Stay active, increase your indoor exercise

Integrate healthy carbohydrates and fats

    There are ways to effectively push through the winter with minimal infections, colds and fatigue problems. It's important to maintain fitness, sleep and exercise regimens which can enhance your overall way of living. Optimal wellness should be the overall goal for everybody, including children - as you age, it is important to modify, alter and improve your lifestyle.
