Understanding the Utilization of Carbohydrates

 ARE CARBS BAD FOR US?

Nutrition is a vital part of our overall livelihood, which is why most people don't consider it to be a priority but more of a choice. Most adults in America are malnourished because they have filled their bodies with heavy chemicals and artificial foods for decades. As we get older, our bodies shouldn't feel older, but they should operate better - poor diet, lack of sleep, limited nature and unstable thought patterns.

Carbohydrates are essential to our diet and lifestyle choices; they are seen as the main source of energy which gives our internal organs the necessary boosts they need. There are three different types of carbohydrates sugars, starches and fiber which are commonly found in nearly everything we consume and eat. Carbohydrates have various functions that our bodily systems utilize, more importantly carbohydrates directly affect our gut health. Our brains need carbohydrates in order to utilize every ounce of energy it provides; the body breaks down carbs into a form of sugar also known as glucose.

When the body doesn't get its' carbohydrates, it seeks to find another energy source which causes the body to breakdown proteins and body fats to utilize as energy resources. Glucose is critical to neurological health, but let's discuss how effective they are for overall digestive health. Inside of the gastrointestinal tract, there is a massive collection of microbial organisms, better known as microbiome, that live on and inside the body.

Most of these organisms are found inside of our digestive system. Specific carbohydrates such as fiber aid in the development and maintenance of immunity which promote healthy bacterial growth in the gut. Utilizing these carbs can decrease blood sugar and cholesterol problems that may appear as you get older and slack off your lifestyle routines.
