Nutrition, emotional intelligence, and overall wellness can be taught to children as young as 3 years old. Children must understand how education connects with health & nutrition. There are various ways to learn and explore nutrition, health & fitness, these factors affect every decision we make in life. As children grow, they must incorporate exercise & nature learning into their educational upbringing. To grasp the concentration and understanding of minors, learning should be fun & interactive.
Wellness, nutrition, and fitness can be introduced to improve or modify behaviors, traits, skills & overall knowledge. Most parents and adults tend to overlook the overall wellness of children because this generation of gentle parenting has given children the option to be unhealthy. Public school systems are not designed to elevate & enhance your child this is why most of the learning & implementation must start at home first.
Fun Ways to Incorporate Health & Fitness
Fun Quizzes (introduce fruits & veggies to your child, let them taste/smell/feel the item, show them various ways to eat/ingest, then QUIZ them)
Cooking Demos (use new fruits/veggies to learn different ways to fix snacks or easy meals that provide nutrients, vitamins & minerals to the body)
Coloring Books (use different books based on nature, nutrition, fitness & foods/plants to utilize skills that are being taught/learned)
Park or Nature Trails (go on nature or park walks to develop fitness routines where they can utilize their toys to learn about fitness, nature & plants)
Children need to understand the importance of drinking water, optimal hygiene, connecting with nature, studying nutrition & lifestyle choices. All of these factors will either help or harm your future. Long-term health conditions have greatly increased during childhood stages which are becoming more common due to diet & parental choices.
Doctors and pediatricians have become more comfortable with childhood obesity due to the emergence of modifications that have affected our food & water supplies greatly. The health charts and percentiles are decreasing which is causing childhood obesity & mortality rates to increase rapidly. Over the last 15 years childhood diabetes & eating disorders have increased in minority children (specifically boys) by over 200% meaning this directly affects 1 out of every 3 boys at least once in their lifetime.
