    Ginger root is classified as a rhizome which is apart of the turmeric root family, the growth process of ginger root begins as a tropical perennial with green shoots that closely resembles bamboo. This root originated in the southeastern Asia where it is commonly used for daily things. 

    The chemical term for it is defined as 'zingiber officinale' better known as ginger. Ginger root is a herb perennial that grows annual pseudo-stems about one meter tall bearing narrow leaf blades. In many cultures and holistic medical practices, ginger root is often used in numerous tonics, herbal supplements and treatment plans.
