The Importance of Healthy Sleep
POSITIVE SLEEPING PATTERNS
When we sleep, our bodies refuel themselves alike cars recharging their batteries as they move - well it's opposite for the humans, as the body sleeps the internal organs, brain and arteries have a "break" which restarts everything. Our bodies run off a biological timeclock which allows our internal systems to regulate, operate and function properly. Maintaining a good sleeping pattern can decrease weight gain and mood swings by enhancing overall energy and concentration levels.
Getting great sleep can improve the overall functions of your critical organs such as the heart, brain, gut and muscles. Sleeping can regulate blood sugars, reduce stress, nerve tension and chronic inflammation because during the resting process the brain detoxifies itself. Scientists, doctors and nutritionists have provided us with accurate data that shows the correlation between sleep and overall health. Providing the body with rest allows you to gain a better sense of self-control, motivation and concentration which can enhance our overall professional and personal performances.
Overall, it is important for adults to gain an adequate amount of sleep daily in order to function at appropriate levels - children tend to need at least 10-12 hours of total sleep which is why the function better overall. It is critical to gain enough sleep, in order to think critically and behave effectively within your daily life. As we age, we tend to neglect the idea of resting because we assume that it costs us time, when in reality, if you don't gain enough rest, all your time will run out.
“Sometimes you can find peace of mind by transferring yourself to different situations. They’re just reminders to stay calm.”
