Learn About Metabolism

 Metabolism is Complex

Metabolism is the overall biochemical reaction involved in maintaining the live status of cells within organisms, every living organism including humans require energy for various processes and creating new organic substances. These metabolic processes aid in development and growth which benefits the overall structures of living organisms. Organisms respond to their surroundings and environments which affects these metabolic processes or reactions. Every bodily function requires some form of energy which allows the body to function effectively.

There are 2 types of metabolic processes that occur within living organisms classified as catabolism and anabolism, both are related to nutrition and the existence of nutrients. Catabolism is defined as the process that breaks down massive organic molecules into smaller elements that release energy. Anabolism is categorized as the process of creating or building compounds from simple substances within cells.  The process of metabolism allows the body to breakdown necessary minerals, elements, acids & proteins in order for the body to function efficiently.

The proper diet for an adequate metabolism contains organic nutrients & inorganic chemical compounds that create powerhouse effects within the body and mind. For example, organic nutrients consist of vitamins, carbohydrates, fats and proteins, whereas the two vital inorganic chemicals we need are oxygen and clean water.  Carbs are considered to be sugars, starches and cellulose which are main energy sources for humans which ultimately produces glucose.

Proteins in metabolism help build and create tissues while maintaining cell function, structure and hemoglobin formation which all aid in overall human development. Amino acids play major roles in bodily functions, the most important are lysine, tryptophan, Isoleucine, leucine, valine and phenylalanine. There are various ways to enhance and increase the metabolism a major way to do this is by increasing fiber and caffeine intake. Both of these stimulate and activates the central nervous system which can increase the metabolism roughly 7-10% for typical adults or young teens without underlying health conditions.

Ingesting more organic foods is a great way to boost your metabolism and immune system such as: blueberries, celery, apples, peaches, lettuce and seeded grapes. Your metabolism can be affected by various things such as age, genetics & physical activity levels which depends on the person or child. The main, most effective way to increase your metabolism is to lose weight, when you lose weight your body's lean muscle mass decreases which means the body has to work harder in order to regulate vitamins and water intake.
