 Prepare for Seasonal Changes


    As our climate changes and recycles itself over time, it's vital that we remain aware of how our bodies react to seasonal changes. For example, during colder months people tend to have lower energy & concentration levels because people neglect their vitamin D & C intake. The colder months usually cause more sinus & respiratory problems because the colder air aggravates and dries out cavities, glands & follicles. When there is less sunlight and minimal exercise, your body must immediately adjust to another routine that will eventually change as the warmer months emerge. 

    Seasonal allergies can affect you in various ways for instance a lot of people complain about sinus & cranial pressure during the warmer months due to the humidity within the atmosphere. Vitamin D, B & D3 are very beneficial for people that experience heavy seasonal allergies or frequent head/chest colds. The seasonal symptoms of stuffy nose, overproduction of mucus, sinus inflammation/pressure, migraines, and chronic muscle fatigue. There are ways to prevent seasonal changes from affecting your physical health as much, for example.... 

   

    Avoid windy, dry days which increase dry coughs, sinus pressure & overall chest colds.
    
    Remove clothes/inside toys from outside, pollen attaches itself to anything & it spreads as it makes contact.

    Avoid common irritants such as dust, grass, & pungent cleaning liquids.

    Allow humidifiers to moisturize & purify inside air to prevent dryness & discomfort in sinus cavities.

    Keep outside shoes on inside floors and carpets, rugs/carpets trap dust & dirt which can spread throughout the house or inside the environment

    Hot steam helps with sinus pressure & clogged nasal cavities, add peppermint or eucalyptus to your water to enhance overall sinus & cavity relief

    Increase your intake of superfoods & superfruits which strengthen the immune system to give it a big boost for stressful times


    Food is a medicine that can be used as a healing tool, beginning with fruits - pineapple is one of the most healthiest fruits you can ingest. Pineapples are good for decreasing inflammation, it is loaded with nutrients & vitamins plus it is known as allergy fighter. This fruit is full of vitamin C which is derived from a powerful enzyme called 'bromelain.' This enzyme fights off inflammation to decrease swelling in joints, muscles, and nerves.  

    Inflammation is the main root of every disorder or these common diseases, which can cause the overproduction of mucus. Cantaloupe is another superfruit that has very powerful properties that aid in physical health because they are full of vitamin A & fiber, which are very critical factors associated with digestive & skin health.  Grapefruits are very beneficial for weight loss, metabolism control, and digestive & oral health. They provide the body with ample amounts of vitamins A & B which are necessary for overall human development. 

    Vegetables are extremely healthy for people as well during seasonal changes, carrots are one of the most vital vegetables you can intake daily. They are full of carotenoids which provide the body with vitamin & nutrient boosts, which also produce great amounts of fiber. Sweet potatoes are very beneficial for digestive health because they repair the stomach lining and they're full of cancer-fighting properties plus they support your immune system as well.  

        Okra is another superfood that is a commonly disliked vegetable due to its' texture and consistency when cooked, however, this vegetable provides the body with multiple benefits. Okra is rich in nutrients & antioxidants which makes it a cancer-fighting tool as well, plus it lowers your blood sugar and maintains blood pressure. Lastly, onions are commonly used for every type of meal within any culture. They're very versatile and beneficial for the body, onions benefit the heart and digestive health. Onions maintain blood sugar, and they enhance bone density with antibacterial properties that are healthy for our bodies & brains.
